By Cody , Hey there I built this calculator because people keep wanting to reference online calculators and they make me vomit as nothing is specific to Hemp so I wrote this page to help you all out.
ORDER OF IMPORTANT CALCULATIONS TO HELP PERFECT YOUR Hemp GARDENS HOMEOSTASIS
#1 WANT GIANT HARD BUDS ? You need a POTENTIAL HYDROGEN METER ( PH METER )
- PH is the MOST important requirement in your garden. Simply measuring PH and PH balancing your nutrients in water with PH UP or PH DOWN solutions to 6.0 then pouring it onto the plants is not enough. If your growing in soil or any substrate that’s not water\hydroponics. It’s the highest importance that you can measure the soils ph because what PH you set your feedings to is NOT what the PH of your soil actually is ! You will need a soil PH meter . We custom build them with your name on the chassis for 275$, otherwise we suggest the BLUE LABS PH PEN as pictured here.
DO NOT MEASURE SOIL WATER RUN OFF !!! This is bad bad practice. Think about it, when hot water steams over coffee grind in the filter, what you get in the coffee pot is a ” CONCENTRATION ” of various things in the soil that has various different PH levels. What you want to achieve, is consistent PH in all of the soil, where all of the soil is the SAME PH.
SOIL OFFSETTING AND CALCULATOR
So, you have your soil PH meter, and you have calibrated it using PH 4.0 or PH 7.0 solutions your ready to measure your soil. You want your soil to be at 6.0 for Hemp in both soil and hydroponics. In soil PH tends to drop due to the difference things occurring in the soil producing acids. Many state to feed at 6.5 but this is not necessary. PH offsetting is what is necessary for near perfect PH in soil. What is an offset ? Ok so you stick your soil PH meter’s probe into your soil; and it reads 7.5 PH but remember the soil needs to be at 6.0 for the best nutrient uptake access ability and for the plant to grow those big ole buds. How do you get 7.5 down to 6.0 ?? It’s very easy.. So your PH reads at 7.5PH , and you need to be at 6.0 .. so your 1.5PH higher than what you need to be at right ? So simply feed at 1.5ph lower than 6.0 PH which is 4.5PH a feeding of 4.5PH will draw down the 7.5 to 6.0 PH .. ( This is a very simple general offset as you will need to take daily readings and do offsets until the PH is perfect; at which the plant will then help to keep the PH at 6.0 with anions and cations it will release into the soil.
MEASURE YOUR SOILS PH AND INPUT WHAT YOUR PH IS.. BELOW IS WHAT YOUR PH NEEDS TO BE FED AT TO ACHIEVE 6.0PH
