FRUITY PEBBLES
$7.00 – $575.00
Description
Fruity Pebbles strains have been circulating since at least 2006, specifically in dispensaries located in California. These strains are named as such because of their resemblance to the cereal brand. While most are labeled as hybrid or slightly Indica-dominant, the genuine genetics of Fruity Pebbles might be impossible to identify, as individual cultivators may employ different breeding techniques and parent strains. According to a report from Alaskan grower, Alaska Loven It, Fruity Pebbles THC composition was tested in 2021 to have a THC percentage high of 28.40%, which was shared with Wiki Leaf.
One variant, promoted as Fruity Pebbles OG, was produced by Alien Genetics and was available for a short time in April 2012. A pack of these unique Fruity Pebbles OG seeds was sold for $1,000-$1,500 each. The mother strain, a Green Ribbon and Granddaddy Purps hybrid, was maximized with a strain that was combined from Tahoe OG and Alien Kush. Depending on the phenotype, Fruity Pebbles yields can reach up to $1,500 to $3,000 per plant, which may significantly reduce profit margins for industrial growers and may be a financial burden for home growers.
Fruity Pebbles possess long and densely packed conical buds that look distinct from the smaller, tightly packed nugs typically found in pure indicas. Leaves are green, but many phenotypes have bright hues of red and purple with contrasting orange pistils. These bright colors are due to anthocyanins, compounds identical to chlorophyll in plants that create colors when exposed to low temperatures.
Fruity Pebbles emits a sweet, tropical scent, similar to a blend of citrus and berries. When the buds are ground, a spicier, hashy fragrance is released. When inhaled, the smoke produced by this strain is smooth and sweet. THC concentration tests have confirmed that some Fruity Pebbles strains can contain up to 28.4% THC.
Those who wish to grow their Fruity Pebbles can acquire clones from healthy plants or purchase packaged seeds. A steady mild climate with indirect sunlight is required for outdoor cultivation. Indoor growers must have sufficient space, depending on the strain, as Fruity Pebbles can grow tall like sativa strains and yield heavy flowers that will need to be staked and tied properly. At the top of the plants, growers should trim away fan leaves to enable light to penetrate lower branches. Within 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, indoor plants will be ready for harvest. Because the flowers may emit a strong, fruity aroma, growers may want to equip their facilities with equipment like carbon filters or exhaust fans. Fruity Pebbles are understood to be a challenging strain to grow and may pose a challenge to novice growers.
